About MFA

“A smart way to turn mine waste into revenue, improve the landscape and meet environmental goals.”

What is

MFA and Why it Matters:

MFA delivers solutions that benefit both the environment and local communities while generating tangible commercial value for our partners.

MFA (Mine Fines  Agglomeration) is a fully developed, modular solution originating in South Africa that transforms mine waste into a valuable resource.

Operating as part of the Green Tree Group, MFA combines advanced engineering, operational efficiency, and sustainability to address one of mining’s most persistent challenges: the safe and cost-effective management of fine residues.

Our vision is   to minimise environmental impact by turning waste into opportunity by removing and processing dumped / stored tailings to recover and sell discarded waste material that would otherwise be lost. Using high throughput agglomeration units, MFA supports more efficient mining operations  while promoting circular economy principles.

"What was once considered waste now represents one of the greatest untapped energy resources of our time".

Community Focused Regeneration

Mines Fines Agglomeration (MFA) is committed to supporting projects that transform historic mine waste into stable, productive and environmentally responsible assets with tangible benefits for surrounding communities.

We aim to work on developments that:

  • Reduce environmental risks associated with legacy tailings
  • Improve local air, land and water quality
  • Stabilise and rehabilitate historically impacted sites
  • Create opportunities for long-term land regeneration and future use
  • Support responsible operators committed to community wellbeing
  • Align with ESG and sustainability standards

Our focus is on projects where environmental restoration, economic opportunity and community confidence progress together.

MFA is keen to work with similar focused operators, landowners and investors who recognise that the future of profitable mining should embrace resource development, the place and its people and long-term environmental stewardship.

"MFA is committed to a circular economy approach, turning mine fines and remediated land into valuable resources. By integrating with Hydro Road and Incostruct, we enable the use of recovered materials in sustainable infrastructure, road stabilisation, and construction applications. This approach not only minimises waste and environmental impact but also creates closed-loop value chains, demonstrating how responsible mining and land remediation can generate tangible social, economic, and environmental benefits."
