MFA converts existing mine fines and tailings into usable material, reducing the need for new extraction. By avoiding stages such as drilling, blasting, haulage and primary processing, the overall carbon intensity of operations is lowered compared with virgin ore production. Stabilising legacy waste also limits oxidation and uncontrolled emissions, reducing long term environmental impact.
